A Tasty Barbecue Rub can Make a Perfect Dinner
Nothing says summer like the smell of barbeque drifting across your neighborhood or down at the park. The warm temperatures and long days of summer invite people to spend their time outside with family and friends. Enjoying the great outdoors means cooking and eating barbequed food that we normally can’t enjoy during the more colder months. One thing is for sure, nothing beats eating barbeque outside on the patio with your family and friends.
So what distinguishes a good piece of barbequed meat from a great piece of barbequed meat? One could hazard to say the skill of the cook can make all the difference in the world. Some people are really good at barbeque and some people just don’t have the touch. That’s not to say that even a bad barbeque cook can’t create a masterpiece every once in a while. So what is it that separates the good from the bad? The one thing that can make or break a barbeque and allow the normally inept barbeque cook to come out looking like a pro is the barbeque rub.
A barbeque rub can be anything you want it to be. It is made up to your own taste and rubbed into the meat before you put it on the grill. It can be spicy or sweet and from hot to mild, it just depends on what your tastes are. It can be made from scratch with any ingredients you have around your kitchen.
A barbeque rub is a completely personal creation and can make or break your grilling experience. The rub itself has a lot to do with how the meat will turn out on the barbeque. Many people have their own special blend of ingredients. Some even enter their rubs and barbeque in contests that go on around the country. Making the rub comes down to personal preference, but finding that special rub can take some trial and error. It is best to start with your favorite spices and experiment from there until you find just the right combination of ingredients to make that perfect rub.
